Right at the start of the offseason summer break for NFL players, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith found himself in some unwanted headlines.
Police investigated assault allegations connected to Smith, 35, over the weekend. It had stemmed from a social media post made over the weekend by a woman named “Kristen,” claims were made by her that Smith “beat my —” in a video.
However, it appears the situation has now died off.
New information via ESPN has stated police responded to a call, no arrests were made, and there is no active case involving Smith:
At the time of the situation involving Smith first coming to light, it was unclear if there was an ongoing case and it appears there is not.
