2026 NFL draft: UConn's Skyler Bell met with Bills at combine

For the Bills receiver has a ring to it that is resonating with fans and media alike this offseason.

And like Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell, who the team hosted for a pre-draft visit, UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell also met with Buffalo at the NFL combine, per Storrs Central.

A 6-foot, 185-pound speedy pass catcher from the Bronx, he was one of the most productive wide receivers in all of college football in 2025. Bell rang up 1,282 receiving yards (third-most among all FBS wideouts), and 13 touchdowns, while earning an 81.8 overall grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF) that ranked 42nd among all wide receivers nationwide.

And he caught the eye of the only NFL team from New York, who he had a chance to speak to in the event they select him to play in his home state.

Originally at Wisconsin before transferring to UConn, Bell’s career took off in the Huskies’ offense, where his ability to stretch the field vertically made him a deep threat while averaging 17.2 yards per reception in 2024.

At the next level, his big-play potential offers appeal as a prospect to NFL teams. He can take the top off a defense and has flashed speed and ability to separate from defensive backs on deep routes. His 13 touchdowns in 2025 highlighted his ability to make scoring plays in the end zone consistently.

Despite playing at a smaller program by college football standards, Bell’s production in Storrs has gained the attention of NFL scouts.

For the Bills, the deep-threat ability and separation are what stand out as needed value adds to make their offense more dimensional to opposing defenses than just quarterback Josh Allen and running back James Cook. His speed and skill set could add another vertical weapon to the depth chart and receiver rotation.

While Bell’s production and athleticism could push him higher than expected on the draft board, he’s currently projected as a Day 2 or Day 3 selection and may be in play for Buffalo with their second pick after trading their second rounder to Chicago for DJ Moore.
