After an extremely condensed month of April as a result of the partial delays incurred by the late-March deal on a new WNBA collective bargaining agreement, the Indiana Fever’s preseason opener is finally here as the team travels to Brooklyn, N.Y., to take on the New York Liberty from Barclays Center.
With the free agency signing period, expansion draft, and traditional collegiate draft complete, both teams begin exhibition competition with new supporting casts surrounding familiar names.
For Indiana, the lengthy offseason has allowed for its franchise cornerstone point guard, Caitlin Clark, to fully heal from her bevy of injuries that limited the 2024 No. 1 overall WNBA Draft selection to just 13 games last season.
