The Iowa women’s basketball team is ranked 23rd in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, which was released Oct. 23
The Hawkeyes return much of the roster from the 2024-25 team that finished 23-11 overall and 10-8 in the Big Ten Conference. Senior Hannah Stuelke, a preseason all-conference pick, is expected to lead the frontcourt while Kylie Feuerbach and Taylor McCabe are among the leaders in the backcourt.
Those veterans will blend with the team’s younger players as the Hawkeyes try to improve on last season’s round-of-32 exit in the NCAA Tournament. Layla Hays and Addie Deal are talented freshmen expected to make an impact this season.
“They like each other. They’re working hard, doing all the things that typical Iowa teams do,” head coach Jan Jensen said during Big Ten women’s basketball media day. “We’re just pretty doggone young, with nine out of the 14 being freshmen and sophomores. And then the only really two-and-a-half who’ve played — Taylor McCabe, Kylie Feuerbach and of course, Hannah Stuelke.”
