Iowa State women’s basketball player Audi Crooks has had a busy week piling up accolades. The star junior earned All-American honors on March 16, 17 and now 18.
Crooks was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press on Wednesday, March 18. The latest honor joins the All-American accolades she earned from The Sporting News and USBWA earlier this week.
All of them are richly deserved for Crooks. The Algona native and Iowa State center established herself as one of the most dominating post players in the nation.
Crooks led the Big 12 Conference in scoring this season, averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting nearly 65% from the floor. She’s also averaged 7.8 rebounds per game.
The junior tallied 12 double-doubles this season and has reached double digits in scoring in 97-straight games, the longest active streak nationally. She’s the only player in the nation to record multiple 40-point games.
The season isn’t over for Crooks. The 8-seed Cyclones will play 9-seed Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 21 at 4:30 p.m., in Storrs, Conn.
