A pair of major artists headed for Indianapolis announced changes to their upcoming tour schedules over the weekend.
Rap-country star Post Malone and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik announced cancellations and postponements to their respective tours May 1 — both of which were set to hit Indianapolis. Post Malone’s June 12 show at Lucas Oil Stadium was seemingly unaffected by the schedule change, but Malik’s July 28 stop at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is off the table.

Malik scrapped all of his upcoming U.S. tour dates supporting his new album “Konnakol” after being hospitalized for an unspecified illness last month. The tour schedule still includes a handful of dates in England, Mexico, Chile Argentina, Brazil and Peru scattered from May to October, according to Malik’s website.
“I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can,” Malik wrote in a May 1 Instagram story. “I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon.”
Fans who purchased tickets to Malik’s July 28 Gainbridge stop directly through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund, according to Malik’s website. Customers who purchased tickets through a third-party seller like StubHub or SeatGeek should reach out to the service, Malik’s website reads.
Post Malone took to Instagram May 1 to announce changes to his “Big Ass Stadium Tour” with fellow county artist Jelly Roll. The schedule shift, which pushes the original May 13 start date to June 9, comes as Malone finishes his 40-song double album “The Eternal Buzz,” according to Rolling Stone.
“I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” Malone wrote in a May 1 Instagram story. “We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
Malone and Jelly Roll’s June 12 Indianapolis date just makes the cutoff of the new schedule as the second show on the tour. Malone canceled shows in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, moving the tour kickoff to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Malone is no stranger to Central Indiana: He performed at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in 2018, Gainbridge Fieldhouse in 2020 and 2022 and Ruoff Music Center in 2023. Most recently, Malone headlined the March Madness Music Festival capping off Indianapolis’ Final Four hosting gig April 5.
Malik, however, was set to make his first solo appearance in Indianapolis on the Konnakol Tour. His last Indianapolis performance was One Direction’s 2015 stop at Lucas Oil Stadium.
