Let’s take a look at some highlights from recent Indianapolis Colts’ training camp practices.
The big story over the last two days has been the play of quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones, both of whom are building momentum.
In the latest practice, Richardson was 9-for-14 in the 11-on-11 periods and 4-for-5 in the 7-on-7 periods, according to Indy Star’s Joel Erickson.
Jones, meanwhile, would go 8-of-11 in the 11-on-11 drills and 4-for-4 in the 7-on-7 periods on Tuesday.
“We’re both competitors and out here, we’re trying to put our best foot forward as quarterbacks and play well,” Jones said via Colts.com. “But the communication in the meeting room or whatever it is off the field has been great. I think I’ve learned a lot from him. Cam (Turner, quarterbacks coach) does a really good job in the room teaching, getting everyone on the same page, making sure we’re ready to go for practice. It’s been a great room to be a part of.”
As Shane Steichen has said from the jump, the most consistent of the two will be the Week 1 starter. But I would guess that if things are close when this decision has to be made, Richardson has the advantage.
