Vote: Who will win IndyStar 2026 Girls Track Athlete of the Year?

The 2026 IHSAA girls track season will feature dozens of electrifying athletes who will undoubtedly have a positive impact on their respective teams. Vote in the poll at the bottom of the article for who you believe will be crowned IndyStar Track Athlete of the Year!

The poll will close Monday, April 20, at noon.

Gabrielle Moore, North Central

Moore has had a stellar start to the 2026 season. The North Central senior helped lead her team to victory in the 4×200 relay at the Fall Creek Pavilion Hoosier State Relays Qualifier on March 3. She also placed third in the 60 at the meet. Moore placed second in the 60 and third in the 200 at Brownsburg Individuals on March 7. Moore set a personal best in the 60 at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Indoor Championships with a time of 7.66, good enough to earn her second place. All her early-season success prepared Moore for an impressive outing at HSR, where she placed fifth in the 60-meter large-school final and guided North Central to a win in the 4×200 and to second place in the 4×400.

Moriah Henry, Zionsville

The Zionsville junior started the season strong, capturing first place in the 60 meters and 200 against Brownsburg on March 5. Henry posted a time of 8.04 in the 60 meters and 27.11 in the latter. Henry finished eighth in the 100 meters at state last year with a time of 12.10 and third in the 200 at sectionals and regionals. 

Emmerson Williams, North Central 

Williams finished first in the 400 meters at the Brownsburg Individuals meet on March 7 and third in the 60 meters. The North Central senior followed with a fifth-place finish in the 60 at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Indoor Championships on March 19. Williams, who finished ninth in the 200-meter dash at state last year, led her team to a state indoor record in the 4×200 on Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays.

Anissa Lammie, Hamilton Southeastern 

The HSE junior ended last season with a bang, placing second in the 400 at state and helping her team to third place in the 4×800 relay and first in the 4×400 relay. She finished first in the 400 at sectionals and regionals. Lammie has already shown signs that she plans to dominate this year. Lammie led the Royals to first place in the 4×200 and 4×400 at the Blue and White Relays and Brownsburg Hoosiers Crossroads Conference Indoor meet in early March. She anchored the 4×400 relay team that won the state indoor title.

Norah Reiger, Hamilton Heights

The Hamilton Heights junior fell just short of a regional title last season when she finished second in the 400, followed by a seventh-place finish in the race at state. Reiger placed second in the 55 at the Hoosier State Relays West Lafayette Qualifier with a time of 7.48 on March 12. Reiger guided Hamilton Heights to second in the 4×400 and fourth in the 4×200 at the meet. 

Bri Carlisle, Avon

The Avon freshman’s time of 7.76 in the 60 is the 14th-best in the state. Carlisle registered that time at the Brownsburg HCC Indoor meet on March 11, finishing third in the event. Carlisle followed with another third-place finish at the Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance meet on March 21. She missed the large-school final at Hoosier State Relays by .01.

Chloe Tragesser, Guerin Catholic 

The Guerin Catholic freshman placed first in the 3,200 at the Brownsburg Individuals meet March 7 with a time of 11:29.54, slotting her in the top 50.

Larkin Taylor, Carmel 

The Carmel junior claimed a sectional and regional title in the 800 last season and finished fourth in the event at state with a time of 2:12.25. Taylor, one of the best 800 runners in the state, led the Greyhounds to victory in the 4×800 relay at sectionals and regionals last season. They finished second in the event at state. She anchored the Carmel team that won a state indoor title on Saturday.

Katy Green, Zionsville 

Green captured a sectional and regional title in the 800 last season and placed ninth in the event at state with a time of 2:13.10. The Zionsville senior hopes to cap her final season with more state medals and looks to be on the right track. Green placed second in the 3200 and third in the distance medley relay at the HCC Indoor meet on March 11. Green and her teammates placed first in the DMR at the Red Devil Last Chance HSR Qualifier on March 21. 

Sadie Foley, Carmel

Foley helped the Greyhounds secure the team state title last season. The Carmel senior finished fifth in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:54.56 at state, where she also guided Carmel to second-place finishes in the 4×400 and 4×800 relays. Foley already has two first-place finishes this season, having earned victories in the DMR and 4×800 at the IWU/Marion Hoosier State Relays Qualifier on March 7. Foley was on Carmel teams that finished first in the 4×800 and second in the DMR at indoor state.

Laura Barco, Martinsville

Martinsville’s star long-distance runner finished second in the 1600 at sectionals and regionals last season. The senior secured a podium spot with a seventh-place time of 4:57.02 in the event at state. 

Julia Score, Bishop Chatard

The Bishop Chatard senior has established herself as one of the best 3200-meter runners in the state. The Wake Forest commit finished first in the event at sectionals and runner-up at regionals and state last season. This season, she has continued to show off her long-distance prowess, leading the Trojans to first place in the DMR and 4×800 relay at the Fall Creek Pavilion Hoosier State Relays Qualifier on March 5. 

Caitlin Hawkins, Fishers 

The Fishers sophomore aims for her first appearance at state after placing fifth in the 3,200 at regionals last season. Hawkins started strong, finishing first in the event at the Brownsburg Indoor meet. 

Katherine Simmons, Mt. Vernon

Simmons, who also competes in the long jump, placed fifth in the 400 at state last season with a time of 56.25. The sophomore Marauder ran the anchor of the 4×200 relay in 25.13 at the Hoosier State Relays.

Anya Zoeller, Pendleton Heights 

The Pendleton Heights sophomore finished second in the 1,600 at state last season with a time of 4:52.05. Zoeller captured sectional and regional titles. She ran a 3,200 in 10:56.00 indoors.

Kourtney Taylor, North Central 

Taylor anchored North Central to a fourth-place finish in the 4×100 relay at state last season. The sophomore led the Panthers to first place in the 4×400 and second in the 4×200 at the Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance meet on March 21. Her 24.68 anchor in the 4×200 helped North Central set a state indoor record at Hoosier State Relays.

Mackenna Condon, Westfield 

The Westfield sophomore helped the Shamrocks finish third in the 4×800 relay at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference indoor meet. Condon helped Westfield to fourth-place finishes at sectional and regional last year in the 4×800. 

Alyssa Lahee, Noblesville

Noblesville ranks in the top 25 for the best times produced in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays this season. A large part of its success is due to the sophomore Lahee. As a freshman, Lahee anchored the Millers to a top 15 finish at state. Noblesville finished second in the 4×400 and fourth in the 4×200 at the Red Devil Last Chance Hoosier State Relays qualifying meet on March 21. She ran a 58.59 anchor indoors at the Hoosier State Relays.

Akua Sackey, Franklin Central

The Franklin Central sophomore ran 60 meters indoors in 7.75, and she was within .02 of making the final at Hoosier State Relays. Sackey hopes to make her first state appearance after finishing sixth in the 100 and eighth in the 200 at regionals last year.

Annabel Pollert, Carmel

Pollert claimed a sectional and regional title in the 3200 last season and finished third in the long-distance event at state. The Carmel junior used her skills to lead the Greyhounds to first place in the 4×800 relay at sectionals and regionals. They finished second in the relay at state. She finished second in the 3,200 at indoor state.

Libby Dowty, Indian Creek

Dowty started her final season with a victory in the 3200 with a time of 11:01.84 at the Whiteland Hoosier State Relay Qualifier on March 6. The Indian Creek senior finished sixth in the 3200 at state last season after capturing a regional and sectional title in the long-distance event. She is a two-time state cross-country champion and was second at indoor state in the 3,200.

Lucy Wood, Brebeuf

The Brebeuf senior finished runner-up in the 3200 at sectionals last season. Wood earned a podium spot at state, where she finished seventh in the event with a time of 10:36.14. 

Jai Brown, Pike

The Pike junior looks to add to her medal collection this season after sectional titles in the 100 and 300 hurdles and 4×100 relay. Brown placed second in the 100 hurdles at state with a time of 14.01 and also earned a regional championship in the event last season. 

Chloe Senefeld, HSE

The HSE senior finished third in the 60 meter hurdles at the Brownsburg HCC Indoor meet on March 11. Senefeld also helped the Royals finish first in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays at the meet. Senefeld placed second in the 300 hurdles and participated in HSE’s first-place finish in the 4×400 at state last season.

Sophia N’Gbesso, Brownsburg

The Brownsburg senior is off to an impressive start to the 2026 season. N’Gbesso registered a time of 8.89 in the 60 hurdles at the Brownsburg Individuals meet on March 7, good enough to earn her first place in the event. She followed up with a personal-best time of 8.83 in the event at the HCC indoor meet four days later. N’Gbesso placed third in the 300 hurdles at state last season and first in the event at regionals and sectionals, where she also claimed first in the 100 hurdles. 

Athena Dixon, North Central

The North Central senior registered personal bests in the 60 hurdles (8.16) and 200-meter dash (25.47) at the Brownsburg Individuals meet. Dixon helped the Panthers place first in the 4×200 relay at the Warren Central Hoosier State Relay Qualifier on March 11 and second in the event at the Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance meet on March 21. Dixon finished second in the 300 hurdles at sectional and regionals last season and sixth in the race at state with a time of 43.59. She was on the team that set a state indoor record in the 4×200 relay on Saturday.

Nife Ogunleye, Brownsburg

The Brownsburg sophomore set a state record in the 60-meter sprint on Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays (7.36 seconds). She bettered  the 7.42 set in 2016 by Pike’s Lynna Irby, who went on to win two relay medals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Ogunleye was third at state in 100 last June.
