Tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail, wind. Hoosiers have seen it all so far in June.
With severe weather phenomena often comes plenty of rain, and central Indiana has been no stranger to precipitation lately. During this week’s severe storms, 17 areas in central Indiana saw over an inch of rain in a 24-hour period. Of those 17, three saw more than 2 inches of rain in the same timeframe.
Data from the National Weather Service of Indianapolis measures the precipitation that occurred between 8 a.m. on June 17 and 8 a.m. on June 18. Here’s how much rain different areas of central Indiana received during the latest bout of severe weather.

Should Hoosiers expect more rain in the near future?
Yes, it’s likely Hoosiers will see rain over the weekend and into the start of next week.
Flooding will continue for some areas due to heavy rain from Wednesday night’s storms. June 20 could also bring light showers, NWS says.
Widespread rain is expected to return June 21 and linger into June 22, potentially bringing an inch of precipitation.
