Notre Dame football’s 2027 recruiting class just got bigger over the past two weeks, adding commitments from edge Abraham Sesay, wide receiver Julius Jones and defensive lineman Segun Alexander.
Those three are all well regarded nationally and it has pushed the Irish to On3’s No. 2 overall class as shared by Mike Singer, behind Texas A&M. The top two teams have battled it out for multiple commitments for this cycle, as former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Mike Elko tries to beat one of his coaching stops.
It’s a fun rivalry, as the two teams split their home-and-home series, with the away team winning each time. The Irish currently have twenty total commitments, with room for additional verbals. The Aggies have 23 in their class, so they’re close to maxing out.
Notre Dame has an outside chance to end up with the top class, but more likely a top-3 group. Regardless of where the Irish end up, head coach Marcus Freeman continues to bring in elite talent to South Bend.
