With the early signing period, many prospects have opted to make commitments much earlier, and for Notre Dame, it has taken advantage of the new recruiting calendar.
A literal big target will go off the board later today, as 5-star offensive tackle Olu Olubobola will make his choice, as the Irish are viewed as the frontrunner. Anytime you can add a prospect of that caliber, it’s a huge victory for the program.
He isn’t the only prospect that could be joining Notre Dame’s 2027 class, as on Monday, three others announced when they’ll make their verbals. Find out below which prospects will soon commit along with a bit of background on each of them.

Edge rusher Jackson Vaughn
When: May 26th, 2026
Home: Oradell, New Jersey
Ranking: No. 204 overall, No. 22 edge
Other teams involved: Auburn, LSU, Miami, and South Carolina
Notre Dame’s outlook: The 6-foot, 3-inch and 225-pound edge has the frame to be an elite pass-rusher and you have to like the Irish here. They currently have the only 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for Vaughn, and it’s from their national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn.
Wide receiver Quentin Burrell
When: May 13th, 2026
Home: Chicago, Illinois
Ranking: No. 83 overall, No. 14 wide receiver
Other teams involved: Missouri, Michigan and Arizona State
Notre Dame’s outlook: At the moment, it does look like the Irish are trailing the Wolverines, the 247Sports staff favors them, for the 6-foot, 3-inch and 200-pound receivers commitment. Notre Dame hasn’t had the best luck landing prospects from powerhouse Mount Carmel, but the hope is a late push changes that.
Safety Gavin Williams
When: May 17th, 2026
Home: La Verne, California
Ranking: No. 159 overall, No. 11 safety
Other teams involved: Washington, UCLA, and USC
Notre Dame’s chances: As the only team not on the West Coast for the 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pound defender, its hard for the Irish to get their hopes up landing Williams. 247Sports has the Trojans as the favorite as the moment.
