Morgan Wallen walks out with Cailtin Clark at Lucas Oil Stadium show

Country superstar Morgan Wallen flew solo on night one of his Lucas Oil Stadium double-header May 8, but a clutch player came through for him with her eighth assist of the day on night two.

Wallen walked out Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark at his May 9 Lucas Oil show, making good on his penchant for local celebrity cameos for Indianapolis. He’d previously gone it alone on the first of two shows on his Still The Problem Tour that drew some 55,000 to downtown each night.

Clark showed out at the stadium following the Fever’s season opener down the street earlier that night. They fell to the Dallas Wings 107-104 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where Clark finished with 20 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

Wallen prepared appropriately for Clark’s arrival, sharing backstage footage of him shooting a mini basketball before he and Clark trekked through the Lucas Oil tunnels to a stadium full of screaming fans. He shared an Instagram post of the moment May 10.

The internet floated Indianapolis Colts punter-turned-sports media personality Pat McAfee, Colts running back Jonathon Taylor and IndyCar driver Joseph Newgarden, among other names, as other possible picks for Wallen’s Indy walkout. Clark’s ultimate cameo set social media ablaze — but it wasn’t the only thing that got people talking.

A car in Wallen’s convoy sideswiped a fan’s vehicle while leaving Lucas Oil following the May 9 show, a video posted to Facebook shows. Wallen was in the black SUV immediately ahead of the car that left the fan’s ride with scratches on the back of the passenger’s side, the video shows.

Social media was split on its opinion of the security detail’s driving habits, with some blasting the convoy for carelessness while others said the incident was unavoidable due to the tight squeeze of the streets. At least, some users joked, the fans walked away with Wallen’s autograph.
