Indiana’s most notable rocker is headed back on the road — and a home state show is on his schedule.
Seymour’s own John Mellencamp will play Noblesville’s Ruoff Music Center July 18 as part of his Dancing Worlds Tour — The Greatest Hits. The road trip, which will hit 19 cities across the U.S., will see Mellencamp perform a career-spanning set with both his biggest songs and deep cuts he hasn’t played live in decades.

Ticket sales begin Jan. 23 at 10 a.m., and registration is available here. Citi customers will have access to a special presale from Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. to Jan. 22 at 10 a.m., and registration is available here.
The tour kicks off July 10 and promises all of Mellencamp’s hits — like “Jack and Diane,” “Small Town,” “Hurts So Good” and more — in a single night. Mellencamp returns to Ruoff after the venue hosted Farm Aid in 2023; Mellencamp, a Farm Aid founding board member, performed with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and more.
Mellencamp is a widely celebrated artist who has received numerous awards throughout his five-decade career. He took home the Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for “Hurts So Good” in 1983, and he’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Indiana has honored the 73-year-old with a statue at Indiana University in Bloomington, where Mellencamp lives. The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art, also located on the Bloomington campus, displayed some of the rocker’s original artwork in the “Crossroads: The Paintings of John Mellencamp” exhibit that ran from September to December 2024.
The Dancing Worlds Tour comes three years after “Orpheus Descending,” Mellencamp’s 25th studio album. His most recent solo tour — 2024’s string of “Live and in Person” shows — stopped in Muncie.
