What are the allegations? Why do they matter? How is the mayor responding?

IndyStar and Mirror Indy are hosting a Reddit AMA at r/Indiana at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 9 to answer your questions about the Hogsett administration and to share takeaways from our reporting, which revealed that Hogsett’s campaign machine has infiltrated the public’s business at the City-County Building, including by arranging for wish lists of his donors’ preferred city contracts to be hand-delivered to the city’s public works chief at the time.

Come join Hayleigh Colombo from IndyStar and Emily Hopkins and Peter Blanchard from Mirror Indy on Reddit to discuss our Mr. Clean reporting and its fallout, including an ongoing grand jury probe and recent calls for investigation from Republicans.

Since 2025, our teams have reported on ethical issues involving the Hogsett administration, finding repeated instances where Hogsett ignored conflicts of interest and allowed millions of public dollars to flow to his allies with little to no public scrutiny.

What do you want to know? Drop your questions in the chat, and we’ll start answering them at 3 p.m. on Thursday. In the meantime, check out IndyStar and Mirror Indy’s Mr. Clean coverage here.

There may be questions we can’t answer on Thursday, but our newsrooms are continuing to work on covering the Hogsett administration. We’ll be sure to keep any remaining questions top of mind as we move forward.
