The dust has settled on IHSAA softball sectionals, and two East Central Indiana teams will keep their seasons going at regionals.
In Class 3A Sectional 24, Yorktown defeated Jay County in the semifinals and Hamilton Heights in the championship to clinch a fifth consecutive sectional title. Meanwhile, in Class 1A Sectional 55, Cowan knocked off Southern Wells, Daleville and Liberty Christian to bring home its fifth sectional title in the last six years.
Regional championships will be played on Tuesday, June 2. Yorktown will host Logansport in a battle of the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in Class 3A, while Cowan will pay a visit to Indianapolis Lutheran.
Semi-state will be played on Saturday, June 6, and the season will culminate in state championship games at Purdue’s Bittinger Stadium on Friday and Saturday, June 12-13.
