WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue women’s basketball returns home after falling to USC and UCLA with a battle for the Barn Burner trophy against rival Indiana at Mackey Arena.
Purdue (10-9, 2-6 Big Ten Conference) had previously won two straight to Wisconsin and later upsetting then No. 23 ranked Washington at home before a rough trip to Southern California, where the Boilermakers were beaten by an average of 38.5 points.
The Boilermakers now look to capture the Barn Burner Trophy for the first time since Jan. 16, 2016, when Bridget Perry scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds to beat Indiana 63-53 in West Lafayette.
Purdue is 9-2 at home led in scoring by junior guards Tara Daye (12.8 PPG), Kiki Smith (10.8 PPG) and career 3-pointers leader Madison Layden-Zay (10.3 PPG).
