Familiar face fills Fever's final development roster spot

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever are signing Bree Hall to a development contract, sources told IndyStar on Monday morning.

Hall was the Fever’s second-round draft pick out of South Carolina in 2025. She was waived after training camp, then signed multiple hardship contracts with the Valkyries throughout the 2025 season. The Fever eventually brought her back on a hardship contract following Chloe Bibby’s injury in September 2025.

Development contracts, which are new for the 2026 WNBA season as part of the new collective bargaining agreement, are designated for players with 0-3 years of service. Hall’s four appearances in regular-season games came on hardship contracts; she played three games with the Golden State Valkyries and one with the Fever in the regular season last year, then had four appearances with Indiana in the playoffs.

She joins Justine Pissott, the Fever’s 2026 second-round pick, on Indiana’s development squad. The two will be eligible to be activated for 12 games each this season and they are able to participate in all team activities, including practice and travel.

Hall’s signing brings the number of Gamecocks on the Indiana Fever roster up to four. She will join former South Carolina teammates Raven Johnson and Aliyah Boston, as well as Tyasha Harris, who played for Dawn Staley from 2016-20.
