With Anthony Richardson on injured reserve, the Indianapolis Colts worked out four quarterbacks on Tuesday.
Update: The Colts are reportedly signing Brett Rypien to the practice squad.
Richardson will have to miss a minimum of four games.
Without Richardson, the Colts have to decide if they want to stick with Riley Leonard as their backup or look for a more experienced option behind Daniel Jones.
Leonard has been in the Colts’ offensive system since being drafted, but as a late Day 3 pick, he’s still a developmental player, and that’s what this year was supposed to be for him.
So who did the Colts bring in for a workout on Tuesday?
Jeff Driskel
Driskel has been in the NFL since 2018, appearing in 25 games while making 12 starts. He’s completed 59% of his passes with 16 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.
Jaren Hall
Hall was a fifth-round pick in 2023 by Minnesota. He appeared in three games as a rookie, which included two starts. He completed 65% of his 20 throws at 8.4 yards per attempt with no touchdowns and one interception.
Tanner Mordecai
Mordecai went undrafted in 2024 out of Wisconsin. He does not have any regular-season NFL pass attempts under his belt.
Kyle Trask
Trask was a second-round draft pick in 2021 by Tampa Bay. He’s appeared in seven NFL games, completing 4-of-11 passes for 28 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
Along with the four quarterbacks, the Colts also had wide receivers Mecole Hardman, Jordan Kerley, and Colton Dowell in for workouts as well.
