Jimmy Morrissey’s tenure with the Colts
Morrissey was waived by the Giants late in training camp last summer. He was then signed to the Colts’ practice squad after Week 2. In December, he was released from the practice squad and then re-signed a week later.
Recapping Jimmy Morrissey’s 2025 season
Morrissey was elevated from the practice squad for the Colts’ Week 17 matchup with Jacksonville. He played three special teams snaps in that game.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Jimmy Morrissey
The Colts do need to determine who will be their backup center behind Tanor Bortolini this summer, but early signs point to Dalton Tucker as the favorite for that role. For Morrissey, this could mean another year on the practice squad, although UDFAs Geno VanDeMark and Josh Kreutz will be competing for that spot(s) as well. Morrissey has been in the NFL since 2021, and that experience could be a key differentiator.
