WASHINGTON — Some late-game heroics from Caitlin Clark gave the Indiana Fever the win against Washington 78-76 Monday night at CareFirst Arena.
Down one with less than five seconds left, Clark got herself open for a long-range 3-pointer — something the Mystics weren’t expecting. And she drained it. That shot preserved Indiana’s win after they blew a 17-point lead.
Clark finished the game with 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting, while Kelsey Mitchell had 15 and Aliyah Boston had 14.

The Fever still have some very real issues with second-half defense and their inability to defend without fouling. But those inefficiencies are temporarily quelled by Clark’s heroics and her ability to do the most unlikely of shots, willing the Fever to a win.
