The Chicago Bears’ stadium saga has been long, arduous, grueling and downright unproductive, which has left the fanbase frustrated. And we’ve once again reached a point where the organization is set to address the stadium project wondering if there will be clarity.
According to The Score’s David Haugh, the Bears are expected to make an announcement on Thursday regarding their stadium project, which hasn’t been addressed for months.
“A Bears rep told state and local officials across border they’ll want to hear what the team has to say, raising hopes. Again,” wrote Haugh.
In the most recent stadium development back in June, the Bears announced their intentions to shift their focus to building a new stadium in Hammond, Indiana, which is one of the two sites they narrowed their search to, including their Arlington Heights property.
But that wouldn’t be the first time the organization has announced their intentions. They did the same thing with Arlington Heights and even the Chicago lakefront. But considering Hammond was their latest target site, the assumption is that it has something to do with the Northwest Indiana priority near Wolf Lake.
We’ll have to wait and see if anything substantial comes out of this announcement or if it’s back to stadium purgatory while the rest of the NFL finds a way to move their stadium projects along.
