Illinois basketball transfer tracker 2026: Three Illini players enter the transfer portal

The 2026 NCAA transfer portal opened on April 7, followed by thousands of college basketball players looking to move around the country.

The undergraduate players seeking immediate eligibility put their names in the online database that allows them to be contacted by other schools about the possibility of transferring. The period lasts until April 21.

Outgoing transfers are listed with new program, if known.

Mihailo Petrovic

The 6-foot-2 sophomore guard appeared in 19 games, averaging 1.6 points and 0.7 rebounds in just under six minutes a game. He entered the portal on April 11. Petrovic will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Toni Bilic

The 6-foot-8 sophomore forward redshirted this season after arriving in December. He entered the portal on April 11. Bilic will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Ty Rodgers

The 6-foot-6 guard/forward has been at Illinois for four seasons, but didn’t play the last two. He missed last season after partially tearing his patellar tendon. This came after he redshirted during the 2024-25 campaign. Rodgers did start all 38 games during the Fighting Illini’s run to the 2024 Elite Eight, averaging 6.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.4 minutes per game. He entered the portal on April 16.
