The 2026 NCAA transfer portal opened on April 7, followed by thousands of college basketball players looking to move around the country.
The undergraduate players seeking immediate eligibility put their names in the online database that allows them to be contacted by other schools about the possibility of transferring. The period lasts until April 21.

Mihailo Petrovic
The 6-foot-2 sophomore guard appeared in 19 games, averaging 1.6 points and 0.7 rebounds in just under six minutes a game. He entered the portal on April 11. Petrovic will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Toni Bilic
The 6-foot-8 sophomore forward redshirted this season after arriving in December. He entered the portal on April 11. Bilic will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Ty Rodgers
The 6-foot-6 guard/forward has been at Illinois for four seasons, but didn’t play the last two. He missed last season after partially tearing his patellar tendon. This came after he redshirted during the 2024-25 campaign. Rodgers did start all 38 games during the Fighting Illini’s run to the 2024 Elite Eight, averaging 6.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.4 minutes per game. He entered the portal on April 16.

Stefan Vaaks
The 6-foot-7 Vaaks comes to Champaign after a season at Providence, being named a member of the Big East all-freshman team. He averaged 15.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 31 of 33 games for the Friars, including 22 starts. Vaaks will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He committed to Illinois on April 12.
