Eli Michanicou won’t be going to far to play NCAA Division-I college baseball.
The Dunlap junior announced via social media his verbal commitment to Bradley on Tuesday, April 28. Michanicou is one of six Eagles players who are receiving D-1 interest.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Bradley University!” the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder posted.
Entering Wednesday, the third baseman was hitting .371 off 23 hits with five doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs. He has 20 runs, 11 walks and 11 stolen bases. In seven pitching appearances, Michanicou is 3-2 with two saves, 28 strikeouts, six walks and a 0.72 ERA in 19.1 innings.
Bradley is 8-36 overall and 4-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference this season, riding a nine-game losing streak into a Wednesday, April 29 nonconference meeting with Eastern Illinois. Justin Dedman is in his first season as the Braves head coach.
