Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze appeared poised for a breakout season in 2025, but the former top-10 pick fell short of expectations in Year 2.
Through the first seven games, Odunze and quarterback Caleb Williams combined for 470 yards and five touchdowns and were poised to become a top duo in the league. Unfortunately, Odunze suffered a setback after dealing with a stress fracture in his foot that limited his production and playing time. It also didn’t help that drops remained an issue for him, as well as the rest of the receiving corps.

Odunze finished with 44 receptions, 661 yards and six touchdowns after missing the final five regular-season games with that stress fracture and made his return during the postseason. But Odunze admitted that his 2025 season was “absolutely” an underachievement.
“I truly believe I can be one of the best in the league, so until I go out there and do that, I’m not satisfied,” Odunze told the Sun-Times. “That’s what I’m working toward.”
While Odunze has hampered by that stress fracture in his foot, he stopped short of blaming his performance on that injury and is ready to prove himself next season.
“You go through certain circumstances during the season, like injuries, but in this league, you either do or you don’t,” Odunze said. “And I’m looking forward to doing a lot more.”
