The Florida State Seminoles have officially fallen into the depths of despair previously unseen since… last year.
After another ignominious loss, this time to the Stanford Cardinal after a 3-0 start, the Seminoles have dropped below .500 once again. This was the first time the Seminoles had faced Stanford in their school history, and it was not the game that they’d like to have in the future. Traveling across the country, only to score 13 points?

Four straight losses, for the fourth time under head coach Mike Norvell, have this program reeling, a far cry from how they started the season.
With all of this in mind, here are the winners and losers from Florida State’s match versus Stanford.
Winner: Tommy Castellanos
Once again, it’s another game where it was not Tommy Castellanos’ fault that they lost. He had a good game, scoring a rushing touchdown and passing for 14/28 and 242 yards before an injury put backup Kevin Sperry in at quarterback.
Winner: The defense? Kind of?
Holding Stanford to 20 points is both a win and a loss. A win, because they didn’t let up 30+ this time. A loss, because it’s to Stanford. Come on, man.
Winner: Micahi Danzy
Another great game in the air for Danzy, as he went for 106 yards on three receptions. Danzy continues to be the bright spot of the offense.
Loser: Mike Norvell
Before 2020, the last four-game losing streak was under Darrell Mudra in 1975. 50 years ago. For the emotional and mental sake of the entirety of Tallahassee, Norvell will need to adjust quickly if the Seminoles want any shot at even a bowl game. It is reported that his words might be starting to ring hollow among the players, which is often a death sentence for any season.
