PORT ST. LUCIE — If you’ve wondered, what’s that building under construction in the Southern Grove area of Tradition between Southwest Discovery Way and Hegener Drive, you’re not alone.
The single-story structure, featuring three large openings for eventual bay doors, is at 12440 SW Village Parkway.
The 2½-acre lot is soon to be Fire Station 20 of the St. Lucie County Fire District. It’s intended to serve the growing area of Tradition and other communities, with multiple large residential, commercial and industrial developments planned, under construction or already completed nearby.
The Fire District broke ground for the station in June 2024 and expects to complete it by the end of 2025, according to the Fire District.
