Creekside sprinter Peyton Ganther is the new Florida Times-Union Girls Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2025-26 season, covering the week of March 30-April 4, 2026 in the Jacksonville area.
The senior ran a personal-best 11.59 for Creekside’s track and field team to win the 100-meter dash at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville.
She placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Angela Chen (Stanton tennis), Daisy Fletcher (Fleming Island flag football), Danielle Hagans (Jackson track), Addyson Hinds (Union County softball), Hannah Jones (Tocoi Creek softball) and Sienna Starks (Bolles track).

It’s time to vote for Florida Times-Union’s girls High School Athlete of the Week for the week of April 6-11, 2026.
The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to preps@jacksonville.com. Deadline to receive nominations is 7 p.m. Saturdays.
This week’s voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour. Vote at jacksonville.com/sports.

Taniya Booker, Paxon flag football
The junior scored three touchdowns, two receptions and a pick-six, as the Golden Eagles beat Mandarin for the Gateway Conference title.
Leighton Dostie, Bolles softball
The sophomore batted .667 with five doubles, a triple, eight runs and six RBI in wins over Christ’s Church, St. Johns Country Day and Bishop Kenny.
Abbi Heilmann, Fletcher lacrosse
The senior recorded nine draw controls, a goal, two assists, a ground ball and a caused turnover in a District 2-2A win over Mandarin.
Sariah Kee, Riverside track
The sophomore won the Gateway Conference triple jump with a personal-best 37 feet, 11 1/4 inches, and finished first in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the high jump.
Makayla Pratt, Trinity Christian softball
The eighth-grader batted .357 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBI in wins over Peniel Baptist, Bradford and Wolfson.
Alexis Wilson, Bishop Kenny track
The senior ran a personal-best 5:10.54 to win the 1,600 at Thursday Night Spikes.
