TCPalm Girls Athlete of the Week – Jan. 5-10

Wrestling: Caitlin Bohrer, Fort Pierce Central – The junior captured first place at the 120-pound weight class during the Rusted Jade Ladies Classic. Bohrer defeated Sunlake’s Camilla Alderman in a 3-0 decision in the championship match.

Basketball: Madi Burrowes, John Carroll Catholic – The junior averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 5.5 steals during a pair of Rams wins. She scored 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting during the team’s win over previously undefeated Treasure Coast.

Wrestling: Khloe Cook, Sebastian River – The junior captured first place at the 120-pound weight class during the Lady Bear Classic. Cook collected a pin fall over Freedom’s Sarah Lucena in the championship match.

Basketball: Lizzie Fitzwater, Jensen Beach – The senior averaged 17.5 points and 4.0 steals during a pair of Falcons victories. She scored 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting against Vero Beach.

Wrestling: Kailani Hasenauer, Sebastian River – The junior captured first place at the 100-pound weight class during the Lady Bear Classic. Hasenauer picked up a pin fall victory over Harmony’s Aubrey McNichols in the championship match.

Soccer: Cailen Jones, South Fork – The junior totaled 19 points with eight goals and three assists through two Bulldogs wins. Jones notched five goals and an assist versus Lincoln Park Academy.

Basketball: Ka’Lynn Pound, Sebastian River – Connecting on 70 percent of her shots from the field, the freshman averaged 23.7 points per game during three Sharks victories. She also put up 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.3 blocks per game.

Basketball: Khloe Rodgers, South Fork – Highlighted by a 40-point effort against previously undefeated Morningside Academy, the freshman averaged 37.3 points per game on 53 percent shooting during three victories. She also put up 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 8.0 steals per game.

Soccer: Findley Wessel, Treasure Coast – The senior totaled four goals and two assists during a pair of Titans wins. Wessel posted a hat trick against Seminole Ridge.

Basketball: Becca Witt, Martin County – Leading the team in scoring twice, the senior was instrumental in three Tigers wins. Witt poured in 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting in a win over Palm Beach Gardens.
