Was it the cotton-tailed legend, the one who’ll soon be making its way down the bunny trail?
You can decide for yourself if the rabbit in this adorable Photo of the Week is the floppy-eared real deal. What’s not in question is that this Easter Bunny did good work at a March 15 fundraiser for Rescue Rebels by Cash 4 Canines Inc.
The holiday hopper posed for photo after photo with pets at the event, presented at Myrt Tharpe Square in Cocoa Village and sponsored by Tails at the Barkery.
Tim Shortt, FLORIDA TODAY visual journalist, jumped right into action, too.
In the case of Dottie, an elderly dachshund, “I like how she looks in awe of who she is being held by,” Shortt said.
“As all who know me well can attest, I have a hard time resisting heading to dog events with my cameras, if my schedule allows it,” he said.
“This annual event benefits a good cause and the pets truly seem to enjoy meeting this huge but friendly and soft bunny rabbit.”
Most, Shortt loves seeing the variety of reactions from animals who cuddle up to the bunny year after year.
“So far, I’ve never seen a dog or cat angry with the bunny,” he said.
“It’s like they know this is someone special.”
