The Jacksonville Humane Society is participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s nationwide Empty the Shelters adoption event, which runs through July 26. The foundation will sponsor reduced adoption fees of $70 or less for cats and dogs. The society will also offer adoption fees of $25 for dogs six months and older. A leash and carrier will be required at the time of adoption and additional fees may apply. The society is at 8464 Beach Blvd.; hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, go to jaxhumane.org.
