Pensacola area FHSAA girls weightlifting regional results, top placers

Girls weightlifting regionals are in the books.

Pace led local area teams, winning every single individual event on their way to a fourth straight Region 1-3A title. 2A weightlifters competed on Saturday at Choctawhatchee High School, while 1A weightlifters competed on Friday at North Bay Haven Charter Academy.

West Florida’s Adalyn Brown won the 183 pound Region 1-2A title, lifting 310 pounds (135 pounds snatch, 175 pounds clean and jerk). Choctaw won the regional title at its home meet, scoring 68 points to beat Arnold by six points. West Florida finished seventh with 30 points to lead area teams.

Baker won the Region 1-1A title with 128 points, beating runner-up North Bay Haven by 51 points. Central finished fifth with 26 points to lead area points.

Below is a list of all top 10 finishers from regional meets. The top lifter in the Olympic and Traditional classifications in each weight class will advance to the state championship, set for Feb. 11-13 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Twelve at-large qualifiers for each weight class will be determined from the second through 10th place finishers in each region.
