FORT PIERCE – The intersection of U.S. 1 and Edwards Road is shut down June 16 following a traffic crash, though the extent of the injuries was not immediately clear, a police spokesperson said.

She said U.S. 1 and Edwards Road were blocked following the crash.

Walker was unable to provide an update regarding the extent of the injuries or details about how the crash happened late afternoon June 16.

St. Lucie County Fire District spokesperson Brenda Smith said her agency went to the scene about 12:15 p.m. to a rollover crash that involved five vehicles.

Three people were taken to at least one hospital.
