Shoppers in Leesburg will soon have a new Burlington store to shop for discounted clothing, home goods and beauty products.
Burlington Stores Inc. announced on July 14 that it will open as part of the Fortune 500 company’s aggressive retail expansion strategy throughout the Sunshine State.
Where is the new Burlington opening?
The new storefront is taking over a retail space previously occupied by Big Lots in the Gateway Plaza, located at 923 N 14th St., Leesburg.
When is the store scheduled to open?
Burlington has designated the Leesburg store as part of its Spring 2026 rollout of new locations.
How many Florida Burlingtons, including the new store?
Once the doors open, this site will officially mark Burlington’s 129th store location in Florida.
What will it look like inside?
The Leesburg site will feature Burlington’s heavily researched, modernized store design, according to a company media release.
The layout “focuses on wider, highly organized aisles and bold, clear navigation signage to ensure a cleaner aesthetic than older off-price layouts.”
It’s part of a national rollout
As with the new location that opened recently in Lady Lake, the new location is part of a larger corporate mandate to open 110 new stores nationwide by the conclusion of 2026.
More than half of the brand’s 1,242 existing locations have already completed this modernization transition.

Shifting from its historical roots as a specialized coat outlet, the retail space will carry heavily discounted daily inventory – slashed up to 60% off traditional retail values – across menswear, plus-size ladies’ clothing, youth apparel, footwear, seasonal home decor and pet care supplies.
Job opportunities?
As a major corporate retail arrival, the upcoming Gateway Plaza location is expected to introduce new full-time and part-time jobs to the local Leesburg community.
Burlington’s recent corporate press releases for new store openings have projected 65 new jobs for local communities.
The company has already opened up its recruitment pipeline for the venue, and local job seekers interested in administrative, localized management, or floor associate roles can view current openings and apply directly through the official Burlington Stores Jobs site.
