St. Johns County issues traffic alert as semi hits pedestrian on FL 16

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi during the Tuesday morning, July 14, rush on Florida 16, according to St. Johns County authorities.

It happened in the 2000 block, a 7:45 a.m. posted from St. Johns County Fire Rescue said. The Sheriff’s Office added that the eastbound lanes between Outlet Mall Boulevard and Inman Road were shutdown and that traffic was being diverted to Outlet Mall Boulevard.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
