Florida State tight ends Randy Pittman Jr. and Landen Thomas have been named to the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award, which is presented annually to the best tight end in college football.
Pittman is entering his first season with the Seminoles after spending the past two seasons with Gus Malzahn at UCF. He played in all 25 games, making 11 starts, and is expected to be a key member of FSU’s offense in 2025. He caught 51 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns during that time.

Thomas is entering his second season with Florida State after earning a starting role as a true freshman. He played in all 12 games and started the final seven, finishing the season with 14 receptions for 173 yards and one touchdown.
They were one of four schools to have multiple players on the watch list. The eight semifinalists for the award will be revealed on Oct. 30, and the three finalists on Nov. 26. The winner will be announced on Dec. 12, as part of the Home Depot College Awards Show on ESPN.
