Michael Brennan not only secured himself a spot in the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs with his victory in the Wyndham Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., but significantly improved his financial standing on the Tour money list with a winner’s check for $1,530,000.
Brennan, who played college golf nearby at Wake Forest, vaulted from 93rd on the money list to 52nd with more than $2.7 million. He made more last week than he did in all of the 2025 season ($1.1 million), and his winner’s check for the Utah Championship last year was $1,080,000.
Brennan finished 123rd on the money list last year.
Brennan also became the 66th player on the Tour to surpass $2 million for the season. Joining him at that mark were Harry Hall (tie for 5th, $328,312).
There are now 112 players who have made $1 million or more. There were 115 millionaires at this stage last year.
Scottie Scheffler remains in the lead
Not only did Scottie Scheffler stay on top of the money list (he’s just short of $17 million), the top 22 spots remained unchanged, with Alex Smalley going from 27th to 23rd by finishing tied for seventh at Sedgefield, earning nearly $250,000.
The purses for the first two playoff events could jumble the standings a bit. The total purses for the St. Jude FedEx Classic and the BMW Championship are $20 million ($3.6 for the winners). The $40 million purse for the Tour Championship in Atlanta is not counted for official earnings.
