The Jaguars selected Monheim in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft. He was the 223rd overall selection.
Recapping Jonah Monheim’s 2025 season
During training camp, Monheim proved that he could be a reliable backup option at center off the bench. He ended up appearing in 11 games, which included two starts and some brief snaps at right guard.
According to PFF’s metrics, Monheim allowed one sack and eight pressures over 119 pass-blocking snaps. He received an “average” run-blocking grade. Monheim played 90 special teams snaps as well.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Jonah Monheim
More likely than not, this will be another season where Monheim provides depth off the bench with Robert Hainsey still leading the way at center. Beyond what takes place post-snap, an important part of the center’s job is making protection calls and adjustments pre-snap, and Hainsey does have experience on his side in that regard.
Unless Monheim clearly outperforms Hainsey this summer, the Jaguars don’t have to be in a rush to get him on the field. He can continue to develop while filling in when needed.
