Jack in the Box returns to Florida. Will it open in Daytona Beach?

After a 46-year break, this popular fast-food chain made its return to the Sunshine State just months ago — and new locations are making their way to the Volusia – Flagler region.

Jack in the Box, known for its all-day breakfast, burgers and ping-pong-ball-headed mascot, has become one of the most recognizable chain restaurants in the industry since its founding in 1951. After making its debut in Sand Diego, the brand expanded into 24 other states over the years, including Florida, where it eventually closed all locations by 1980, USA TODAY NETWORK previously reported.

Currently, Jack in the Box operates at least 2,2000 restaurants across 25 states, and earlier this year, following a more than 40-year absence, the chain returned to Florida, opening brand-new stores in Longwood and Tallahassee.

“Expanding into Florida, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing states, aligns perfectly with our strategic plan,” said Tim Linderman, Jack in the Box’s chief development officer, in a news release.

How many Jack in the Box locations are opening in Florida?

The chain has emphasized its “commitment to the Sunshine State,” with nearly 10% of its 400 planned locations over the next several years slated to open in Florida.

While two Orlando restaurants, one near the Orlando International Airport and the other near the Millenia Mall, are scheduled to open in July, those are far from the only Central Florida locations in the works.

“We currently have over 20 store commitments for the Greater Orlando area with plenty of opportunity left in the markets listed,” according to Jack in the Box; those markets include Daytona Beach, Deltona, DeLand, Edgewater and Palm Coast.

The brand’s new locations will offer dine-in and drive-thru service as well as mobile ordering options, and will be open 24 hours each day, according to a release.

What’s on the menu at Jack in the Box?

The fast-casual eatery is known to have an eclectic menu of burger combos, taco meals, munchies snacks, shakes and more.

Options range from the Buttery Smashed Jack on a brioche bun to the Chicken Supreme Sandwich, Meat Lovers Breakfast Burrito, Spicy Grilled Jack Wrap, and Sauced and Loaded Tiny Tacos.
