FSU prioritizing elite in-state defensive lineman

Four-star defensive Santana Harvey has over 30 offers on the table, and one of them is from Florida State. They extended it to him last January, and now he’s become one of their priority recruits in the 2027 cycle, per Noles247’s Zach Blostein.

Back in January, Harvey was in Tallahassee for one of FSU’s Junior Day events. During his trip, he got to spend time with new edge coach Nick Williams. Once he departed, Harvey had nothing but good things to say about him.

“He’s a great guy,” Harvey said of Williams. “I feel like he’ll be able to develop me to the next level. Just seeing the people he’s put in the league and the people he’s been able to develop over the past years, I feel like I want to be a part of that.”

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder is the No. 286 overall prospect and the No. 34 defensive lineman according to 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, Harvey is the No. 27 recruit.

His junior campaign went very well at Lakeland High School. Harvey produced 12 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups. He also had a great sophomore season in 2024 with 60 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups.

ACC rivals Clemson and Georgia Tech are working to get Harvey to leave the Sunshine State. Florida State does have a multi-day official visit locked in with him from June 5-7. They need to knock that trip out of the park to keep their name atop his list of schools.
