The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has advised there’s been an officer-involved shooting in the 1600 block of Julington Creek Road near San Jose Boulevard.
The alert came out shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, but the Sheriff’s Office hasn’t said when it will update the media with details.
This marks the city’s seventh police shooting of the year; the previous six included four suspects killed. That’s ahead of 2025’s pace when there were six police shootings at this time and ended with 17, 11 of which were fatal. That was most since 2008 when Jacksonville officers shot 28 people with 14 dead, according to Times-Union records.
This is a developing story.
