PANAMA CITY — Florida State University Panama City will host a Veterans Day celebration on Monday, Nov. 10.
According to a school press release, the celebration will feature nearly 30 guests from Bay District Schools JROTC and military science classes.
This event will be in the St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall at the Holley Academic Center, 4750 Collegiate Drive. Registration opens at 10 a.m., with the program beginning at 11.
“The presentation of the flag will be by the Rutherford High School JROTC led by Dillon Johnson, a retired USAF chief master sergeant,” the release says.
Other special guests include Bay District Schools Superintendent Mark McQueen, a retired U.S. Army major general; USAF Col. Chris Bergtholdt, commander of the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndall Air Force Base; and Patrick Bass, a retired USAF major.
A panel discussion will be held featuring two student veterans and a student military dependent. The panel will be moderated by Jim Allen, a retired U.S. Navy veteran who serves as director of academic services and campus registrar at FSU Panama City.
This event is free and open to the public. A free lunch will be provided for all registered participants and guests.
