Florida State was named in the top three for four-star wide receiver Brandon Bennett at the end of May. On Monday, he was projected to land with the Seminoles. That became a reality on Thursday when he made his pledge to the program after visiting last weekend.
Bennett is the nation’s No. 250 overall recruit and the No. 42 wide receiver according to On3’s industry rankings. In the state of Florida, Bennett ranks as the No. 37 prospect.
The American Heritage High School star is the 11th commitment for the Seminoles in their 2026 class. He’s also the third receiver to go along with Darryon Williams and Efrem White, who are both four-star prospects.
It’s been two consecutive seasons of high-level production on limited touches for Bennett. He registered 21 receptions for 479 yards (22.8 yards per catch) and five touchdowns as a sophomore. As a junior, he produced 24 receptions for 509 yards (21.2 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns.
Bennett was able to attend spring practice back in March, which was his first trip to Tallahassee. After seeing Gus Malzahn and his offensive system, Bennett felt the fit was ideal.
“Really getting to see the offense for the first time, the new offense. It fits my playstyle – exactly how I would like,” Bennett said via Noles247.
Florida State was able to beat out the arch-rival Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs for Bennett. That’s a huge win for the Seminoles as they try to climb back to being one of the better recruiting programs in the country.
Bennett still has one more season of high school football. FSU has had trouble holding on to commitments as of late, so they have to keep recruiting Bennett until he officially signs.
