A visit to Florida in the winter? For people living in Rochester, N.Y., which happens to get a lot of snow and freezing temperatures, they would likely embrace any opportunity to escape the frozen tundra of the north.
As it turns out Breeze Airways will give them that opportunity with seasonal nonstop service from Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester international Airport (ROC) to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers starting in January.
Monroe County (N.Y.) Executive Adam Bello announced Tuesday (July 29) that Breeze Airways will begin nonstop service from Rochester to Fort Myers starting Jan. 8, 2026.
This news comes a day after it was announced that Allegiant Air would start serving travelers at RSW later this year with three nonstop flights in the U.S.
When will Breeze fly from Rochester to Fort Myers?
Breeze will operate the new seasonal route twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, offering Rochester travelers a direct link to Florida’s Gulf Coast.
“Whether you’re planning a family vacation or a weekend getaway with friends, Fort Myers is now just one easy flight away,” said Bello. “We appreciate Breeze’s ongoing investment at ROC.”
It was a good day for Breeze, too.
“We’re excited to bring a new seasonal route to community members this winter,” said Breeze CEO David Neeleman.
Fares to Fort Myers will start at $79 one way, with tickets available at flybreeze.com.
