The milestone 50th season of “Survivor” began in February with 24 castaways from the show’s first 49 seasons. Among the 24 people competing for the title of “Sole Survivor” and a $1 million cash prize, there were two from Florida.
But there are no Floridians left in the competition, with just two weeks left until the live finale. Fan-favorite Christian Hubicki was the last Floridian standing and was eliminated in the ninth episode two weeks ago.
Hubicki’s elimination was a hot topic among fans, since it was the result of a celebrity twist in the game and ended with Hubicki being forced to not only vote against himself, but tell his fellow castaways about it. The controversial celebrity twist came via “SNL” vet and “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon.
Last week, another celebrity twist to the game brought an appearance from 27-year-old YouTuber, businessman and millionaire, MrBeast.
Here’s how to watch the new episode of “Survivor 50” tonight, when the live finale will air, who was voted off in the first 10 episodes and who is left in the competition.

Why did Christian Hubicki vote himself off ‘Survivor’?
As of episode 11, there are no more Floridian castaways in the running for the title of “Sole Survivor” and a $1 million cash prize.
In episode nine, Christian Hubicki, a fan-favorite contestant, was forced to cast a vote against himself in an unprecedented vote at Tribal Council after failing to complete a celebrity twist challenge. In the challenge created by Jimmy Fallon and the “Survivor” producers, Hubicki failed to complete a puzzle and was forced to vote for himself to be eliminated as a result.
“This is a message for Jimmy Fallon,” Hubicki said in his voting confessional. “How dare you? This idea that you had was terrible. No more ideas for you. I look forward to your apology.”
Hubicki was a contestant on “Survivor: David vs. Goliath” in 2018, finishing in the final seven after shrewd gameplay with Hidden Immunity Idols and one Immunity Challenge win.
“A neurotic castaway, Christian’s funny personality and general likability earned him many friends and allies in the pre-merge of David vs. Goliath,” his biography on Survivor Wiki says. “At the merge, however, he became a huge target for being a threat to win the game.”
Based in Tallahassee, Florida, Christian Hubicki is a robotics professor at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. He also welcomed a baby boy with his wife Emily about six weeks before leaving to film “Survivor 50.”
