A 36-year-old Fort Pierce man is facing allegations of sexual battery involving a juvenile, according to a St. Lucie County sheriff’s news release.
Juan Alberto Guandique Sanchez was arrested July 7 and charged with three counts of sexual battery on a person 12 years or older but younger than 18 by a person who is 18 or older, according to the release.
Sheriff’s deputies responded July 6 to a report of allegations of sexual activity between a 14-year-old girl and a 36-year-old man, according tot he release. Sheriff’s detectives then took over the investigation.
Detectives conducted interviews, executed residential search warrants and analyzed electronic digital evidence, according to the release. They established enough probable cause to arrest Sanchez, but did not indicate what that is.
Sanchez was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail, where he was being held July 8 on an active Martin County warrant charging violation of probation related to a conviction for driving without a valid driver’s license with prior convictions, according to the release. He also was being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
