Florida learns kickoff time for rivalry game against Florida State

Florida’s Thanksgiving weekend matchup against in-state rival Florida State will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 27, and be broadcast on ABC. Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, will play host to the 69th regular-season meeting between the two programs.

It’ll be the first regular-season game slated on a Friday for the Orange and Blue since 2022.

Florida capped last season by carving up the Seminoles in a double-digit victory — the Gators rode a 266-yard rushing performance from Jadan Baugh to their fourth win of the year. The 40-21 triumph wasn’t enough for the then-head coach, Billy Napier, to retain his position, so Jon Sumrall will get his first taste of the long-standing rivalry this fall.

Traditionally, the contest between these two Sunshine State foes is played on a Saturday, but with added emphasis on Black Friday college football programming, the game will now take place the day after Thanksgiving.

Florida won the last two games against Florida State; however, the series is tied over the last 10 matchups. The Gators lead the all-time series 39-28-2. Traveling to Seminole territory, the Gators are 15-14-1.
