Door County residents asked to share thoughts on America's 250th

The nation is gearing up to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, and Door County residents and visitors are set to be asked about their thoughts on the milestone.

PBS Wisconsin will bring its statewide “MyAmerica@250” initiative to Ephraim Historical Foundation May 19-20, inviting participants to reflect on what America’s 250th anniversary means to them.

Crews will film interviews with community members from 5 to 7 p.m. May 19 and 9 to 11 a.m. May 20 at the Pioneer Schoolhouse Museum, 9988 Moravia St., in Ephraim, as part of a statewide social media campaign.

Ahead of the 250th anniversary – or semiquincentennial – of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the public will be invited to answer several short questions centered around the theme, “What America’s 250th anniversary means to me.” The recordings may be featured by PBS Wisconsin throughout the year.

No registration is required.
