MIAMI GARDENS − Florida football defensive lineman George Gumbs Jr. is among nine players out for Florida in its matchup against Miami on Sept. 20.
With Gumbs out, true freshman Jayden Woods is set to make his first career start at edge rusher, while Kofi Asare, a UMass transfer, also will likely see more playing time at the edge.
The Gumbs injury makes the Florida Gators’ defensive line even more thin heading into their matchup with the Hurricanes. Edge rusher L.J McCray (broken foot) and defensive tackle Caleb Banks (foot) are out indefinitely, while Michai Boireau didn’t make the trip and is out for his second straight game.

Wilson made the trip to Miami and is expected to return to practice during the open week. before UF’s next game Oct. 4 at The Swamp against No. 7 Texas.
