FDOT will host meeting in Haines City on next I-4 improvements

The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on July 28 in Haines City to provide information about the Moving I-4 Forward program.

The meeting will discuss Project 3, which will include four general-use lanes on Interstate 4 east of U.S. 27, three general-use lanes west of U.S. 27 and two express lanes in each direction. Additional operational improvements along U.S. 27 will provide better traffic flow for travelers and businesses in the area, FDOT said in a news release.

Attendees will also learn about the accelerated improvements already under construction at the interchange and along U.S. 27 to reduce congestion and increase safety before Project 3 officially begins, the release said.

Displays that illustrate the improvements will be available at the meeting, along with a looping informational video. Members of the project team will be present to answer any questions. All meeting materials will be posted to the public meeting webpage on the day of the meeting.

Visit the public meeting webpage at MovingI4Forward.com/Project-3-Public-Meeting to learn more and provide comments.

Comments received or postmarked on or before Aug. 7 will be included in the public meeting record.

The meeting will be held at Lake Eva Event Center, 799 Johns Ave., in Haines City from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
