A fatal shooting occurred at a Fort Pierce pawn shop on the evening of April 28, said police officials.
Officers went to Cash Out Gold and Silver at 4603 S. U.S. 1, just south of Weatherbee Road, shortly after 7 p.m., said police Maj. Michael Santiago.
They found a man inside the pawn shop who appeared to have been shot to death, Santiago said.
No further information was immediately available as police officials continued their investigation.
On the morning of April 29, there were no signs of law enforcement activity at the pawn shop located in front of Easy Livin’ R.V. Park on the west side of U.S. 1.
Meanwhile, Brad Wilson, 65, who has a lawn business, pulled up in a truck. He said he lives in the R.V. park and was working on a lawnmower the previous day and saw law enforcement officers.
“Then I came up here and there was 50-60 police officers surrounding this place,” Wilson said. “Yellow tape was around it all the way around.”
He said he didn’t know the individuals in the store. He had asked people what happened, and they didn’t know. He said police were at the scene for several hours.
“I didn’t know if somebody got robbed (or) why they shot him,” Wilson said.
